AEROSPACE AND STEM PROGRAM

Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma, in partnership with the Oklahoma Aviation Academy, offers a transformative Aerospace and STEM education program to high school students in the state of Oklahoma. This program is designed to provide industry-connected education pathways for Oklahoma students, ensuring career readiness in the high-demand areas of aviation and aerospace after high school. Our STEM curriculum prepares students for various aviation career pathways.

This program provides students with educational opportunities in a wide variety of STEM and aerospace-related fields, such as computer science, biotech, engineering, atmospheric sciences, robotics, and many more. Students will be able to earn certifications in aircraft repair and maintenance, drone operation, and even a pilot’s license.

Career Pathways

The program provides STEM industry-connected education pathways, allowing students in grades 9-10 to connect directly with higher education, career tech, and industry partners. This ensures career readiness in high-demand areas such as aircraft maintenance and repair, drone operation, pilot’s license certification, engineering, air traffic control, airport management, and unmanned aircraft certification.

Program Overview

Our curriculum, developed in collaboration with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), offers rich and engaging content that meets the standards required by the state of Oklahoma. Students will engage in various activities and assessments, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.

Students will cultivate critical skills, including discovering passions and purpose, critical thinking and problem-solving, collaboration across networks, agility, adaptability, resilience, initiative and entrepreneurship, effective oral, written, and multimedia communication, and accessing and analyzing information.

How to Enroll

Enroll by completing the online registration form for Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma. Once enrolled, 9th and 10th grade students will meet with Guidance Counselors to finalize registration into the Aerospace Program.
