I have worked in Oklahoma public education for the past 20+ years. As a teacher, athletic coach, instructional coach, principal and instructional designer. I am so excited to launch this school in Oklahoma and create a community-connected virtual opportunity for our students that will help them discover a pathway to a fulfilling and successful career in the future! I live in the OKC metro area and have 3 boys at home and an adult son and daughter.  We love camping, hiking, and traveling.

From an early age, I knew I wanted to be an educator, hoping to impact others positively. My journey started as an elementary school teacher. I spent seven years teaching fifth grade in Norman, OK, where I met my future wife, a fellow teacher. Next, I had the opportunity to be a middle school math teacher and geography teacher in Norman. I transitioned to administration as an Assistant Principal in Oklahoma City during my fifth year in middle school. In OKC, I was blessed to spend time in various communities across the city through my role in four elementary and middle schools. In 2021, I became Principal of a middle school in Norman, where I led for two incredible years. Now, I am grateful to have the opportunity to impact students across the state as the Founding Principal of Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma. As a parent of three school-aged children, I understand the importance of schools being safe, engaging, and focused on developing lifelong skills and knowledge. With those in mind, I believe VPrep will be an excellent place for students to grow!

I have 20+ years of experience in education. Many of those years were as a classroom teacher here in Oklahoma and abroad in the Philippines. I have also worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Education focusing on student supports. I hold an M.Ed. in Elementary Administration and a BS in Elementary Education from East Central University. My dedication lies in Oklahoma Education, where I have actively enhanced student learning through various roles and pathways.

I am from Cordell, Oklahoma, a small town in the western part of the state. I spent the first ten years of my career teaching Special Education, Elementary, and Music in small towns across Oklahoma. Most recently, I taught Special Education and was the Special Education Manager for the K12-partnered schools in our state. I am married to my High School sweetheart, Jerod, and we have three boys. We keep busy with their sports, band, and other activities. We like to unwind as a family, camping and fishing at the lake as often as possible.

I am from Dallas, Texas, and began my teaching career in Frisco, Texas, where I taught 5th grade online and 3rd grade in person. I later moved to Idaho, where I taught with VPREP for the Idaho school district. Now, I’m excited to serving as the Student Success Coordinator for Oklahoma. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy soccer, watching football games (Go Cowboys!), hiking, and spending time in the sun with family and friends!

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, growing up in the small town of Washington in the central part of the state. With a passion for teaching, I began a career in education by teaching high school biology and coaching softball. I have also taught middle school art, 5th grade and am currently serving as one of the Student Success Coaches for VPREP. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy sports, all things crafty, and spending time with family and friends!

I currently reside in SW Oklahoma. I have over 25 years of experience working with children and families and have spent the past five years as a dedicated school counselor, helping students navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. Throughout my career, my goal has been to empower children and young people as well as fostering strong relationships between schools and families to ensure every child has the support they need to succeed. I am a proud parent of three children—Alexis (25), Michael (23), and Greyson (12). Outside of work I love hanging out with my children. I also enjoy running, hiking, camping, reading, and of course, spending quality time with my family and friends.
